Chiropractic Treatment
Chiropractic adjustment is a treatment in which trained experts (chiropractors) apply a regulated, abrupt force to a spinal joint using their hands or a tiny device. The purpose of this therapy, also known as spinal manipulation, is to enhance spinal mobility and physical function in your body.
Why is it done?
The most frequent conditions for which patients seek chiropractic care are low back pain, neck discomfort, and headaches.
What to anticipate-
During your first appointment, your chiropractor will ask you questions about your medical history and do a physical exam, paying special attention to your spine. Other exams or tests, including as X-rays, may be recommended by your chiropractor.
Throughout the treatment-
A typical chiropractic adjustment involves your chiropractor positioning you in precise postures to address afflicted regions. You are often positioned facedown on a specially built, cushioned chiropractic table. The chiropractor applies a controlled, abrupt force to a joint, pushing it beyond its normal range of motion. During the treatment session, you may hear popping or cracking noises as the chiropractor rotates your joints.
Following the process-
After a chiropractic adjustment, some persons suffer minimal side effects for a few days. These may include headaches, lethargy, or soreness in the treated areas of the body.
Results-
Chiropractic adjustments may be useful in treating low back pain, while most studies indicate just a little improvement – equivalent to the findings of more conventional therapies. According to certain research, spinal manipulation may also be beneficial for headaches and other spine-related illnesses such as neck discomfort.
Chiropractic adjustments do not work for everyone. A lot depends on your specific scenario. If your symptoms do not improve after a few weeks of therapy, chiropractic adjustments may not be the ideal solution for you.
